In 1998, following a first trip to Guinea, Claude Lescan, a retired college professor (Cégep de Saint-Jérôme), founded Partage Québec-Guinée. This non-profit humanitarian organization is composed essentially of volunteers. After assessing educational needs of Guinea, Claude Lescan decided to:
1. Support literacy in Guinea by making books available to local populations;
2. Support access to computers and computer technology by sending computers to community groups in Guinea.
